Chocolate Chai Energy Balls

I saw Balance with B’s chocolate peanut butter protein bites the other day and ever since then I’ve been itching to get the kitchen and ~get the ball rolling~ with a recipe of my own. I used almond butter and added a few extra spices for these chocolate chai almond butter energy ballz. I love having these in the fridge to snag both for work or before a morning workout. They’ve go lots of fiber, whole grains, protein, and maca powder for an added energy surge. They are quite cha(i)-rming if I do say so myself. Recipe below!

Chocolate Chai Balls 1

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 scoop The Natural Citizen organic energy (code LEMONS at check for $10 off a bag)
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of allspice
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks (I used 80% dark chocolate)

Choc Chai Balls 2

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Get rollin’.
